8 Days Kilimanjaro Rongai Route
Day 1 – Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport
Transfer to Silver Palm Hotel B&B. Gear check and briefing by head guide. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 – Arusha to Rongai Gate to Simba Camp | 5 miles | 4 HRS | Rainforest
Elevation: 6,398 ft → 9,300 ft
Drive to Rongai Gate, register, then begin trekking through maize and potato fields into the rainforest. Overnight at Simba Camp.
Day 3 – Simba Camp to 2nd Cave Camp | 4 miles | 3-4 HRS | Heath
Elevation: 9,300 ft → 11,300 ft
Trek slopes flanked by heather and Erica with views of Mawenzi and Kibo. Rest and refreshments at 2nd Cave Camp. Overnight there.
Day 4 – 2nd Cave Camp to Kikelewa Camp | 4 miles | 3-4 HRS | Moorland
Elevation: 11,300 ft → 11,811 ft
Cross open moorland to reach Kikelewa Camp by the Kikelewa River, surrounded by giant groundsels and lobelias. Scenic views of Kilimanjaro. Overnight at Kikelewa Camp.
Day 5 – Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Hut | 3 miles | 4 HRS | Alpine Desert
Elevation: 11,811 ft → 14,160 ft
Steep climb to Mawenzi Tarn Hut. Optional afternoon acclimatization walk with fantastic views of Kibo. Overnight at Mawenzi Tarn Hut.
Day 6 – Mawenzi Tarn Hut to Kibo Hut | 5 miles | 5-6 HRS | Alpine Desert
Elevation: 14,160 ft → 15,430 ft
Cross the barren Saddle’s northern edge to Kibo Hut. Early lunch, final summit briefing, and early dinner to prepare for summit night. Overnight at Kibo Hut.
Day 7 – Kibo Hut to Gilman’s Point to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut | 4 miles ascent / 10 miles descent | 6-8 HRS up | 4-5 HRS down | Arctic / Rainforest
Elevation: 15,430 ft → 19,341 ft → 12,205 ft
Midnight departure to summit. Witness sunrise at Stella Point, continue to Uhuru Peak. Begin descent via Kibo Hut to Horombo Hut. Overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 8 – Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Arusha | 12 miles | 5-7 HRS
Elevation: 12,205 ft → 6,046 ft
Final descent to Marangu Gate, receive certificates, and transfer back to Arusha. Celebration and rest. Overnight at hotel.
Day 9 – Departure
Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or continue your Tanzanian adventure (safari or Zanzibar). End of tour.

Climb the Rift Wall while enjoying panoramic views of the green oasis below.
Manyara Walk & Bike
Cycle or walk around Lake Manyara, spotting wildlife and beautiful landscapes.
Village Cultural Tour
Visit local farms, wood-carvers, and banana beer makers for an authentic experience.
Miwaleni Waterfall Hike
Hike to Miwaleni Waterfall and swim in the refreshing pool beneath the falls.
