Chumbe Tour Overview

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival & Chumbe Island
Arrive at Seaport/Airport and transfer to Chumbe Island. Explore the mangrove forest and coral park with unique flora and fauna including coconut crabs, rock pools with juvenile fish, and oysters. Overnight at Chumbe Bungalow.
Day 2 – Nature Walk & Snorkeling
Morning walk to discover starfish and nesting birds on small islets. Explore intertidal pools and mangrove areas. Afternoon snorkeling in coral reefs housing almost 90% of East Africa’s coral species. Overnight at Chumbe Bungalow.
Day 3 – Spice Farm & Stone Town
Visit Kizimbani or Kimchi spice farms to learn about cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, and more. Optional local lunch. Explore the Persian Baths built by Sultan Said. Transfer to Stone Town for dinner and overnight at Dhow Palace.
Day 4 – Jozani Forest & Prison Island
Tour Jozani Forest to see Kirk’s Red Colobus monkeys, rare antelope, and birds. Take a boat to Prison Island to observe giant tortoises and historical ruins. Return to Stone Town for a sunset dhow cruise. Overnight at Dhow Palace.
Day 5 – Stone Town Exploration & Departure
Explore historic Stone Town, including the House of Wonders, former slave market, and Arab Fort. After lunch, transfer to the airport or continue with your safari or beach adventure.
