6 Days Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara
Day 1 – Tarangire National Park
Pickup from your hotel in Moshi/Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park via Arusha (approx. 4–5 hours). Spend 4–5 hours game driving, famous for elephants and huge baobab trees. Other wildlife includes giraffes, antelopes, lions, and cheetahs. Lunch is provided. Beware of mischievous local vervet monkeys! At 4:00 PM, drive to Haven Nature Safari Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Early start at 7:00 AM. Pass by a traditional Maasai Bomaand observe the Maasai way of life. Enter Serengeti National Parkaround noon for an afternoon game drive. Overnight at your tented camp/lodge.
Day 3 – Serengeti National Park
Full-day game drive. Morning drive into the Serengeti refuge, return for lunch and relaxation, then afternoon game drive. Enjoy dinner and the sounds of the wilderness at night.
Day 4 – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, continue game viewing in the central Serengeti, which spans 1,400 km². Expect sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other wildlife. Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight. Pack warm clothing and light gloves as it can be chilly.
Day 5 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Early morning departure to Ngorongoro Crater, home to over 25,000 wild animals, including the Big 5. Wildlife estimates: 7,000 wildebeest, 4,000 zebras, 3,000 elands, 3,000 gazelles, 600 hyenas, 200–300 elephants, 60+ lions, 30 rhinos. Overnight near the crater rim; altitude ~2,286 m (7,500 ft), pack thermal pajamas and gloves.
Day 6 – Lake Manyara National Park
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a smaller but scenic park with groundwater forests and abundant wildlife including elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and baboons. Enjoy spectacular birdlife with over 100 species. End of the safari.
